Meditation & Kum Nye

Great Comberton

Friday mornings
10:00 - 12:00

Kum Nye (also known as Tibetan Yoga or Tibetan Healing Exercises) is a gentle healing system designed to relieve stress, transform negative patterns, and enhance well-being. This holistic practice integrates physical and psychological approaches, working with all aspects of human experience to leave us with an experience of deep relaxation and reintegration.

Kum Nye works with the subtle aspect of our being that lies between the mind and the body. This liminal zone plays a crucial role in our overall sense of wellbeing and during the session we will aim to rebalance and nourish it through an immersive and relaxed practice of movement and stillness. The result is an open-hearted sense of wholeness and clarity.

You can expect movement, self-massage, breath and body awareness blended in ways that cultivate a deeper connection with our embodied presence. There will be short periods of meditative stillness, usually seated (cushion or chair).

No prior experience is necessary; Kum Nye is especially useful for those interested in developing a meditation practice.

What Yogis Say

The workshops are a real treat! They give me the chance to experience a longer and deeper practice. I find sitting still even for very short periods of time really challenging. These workshops, with their combination of breath work, stillness and movement have helped me take my practice onto a more reflective and meditative level. The workshops are always well organised relaxed and welcoming. - Ann M
I wanted to say how much I’ve been enjoying this last term. I’ve surprised myself in that I’ve really loved the detail we’ve been looking at re the spine (most unlike me as I’m usually a big picture person) but I have found it so useful for my back and how it’s enhancing my yoga practice. I’ve even been doing the 5 minute back moving sequence every day and that’s not something I’ve ever achieved on a regular basis before ! So a big thank you for your great teaching and class structures - I know you put a lot of prep into your work. - YR
I have attended Lucy's weekly yoga classes for several years, and I can thoroughly recommend them for anyone looking for a refreshing, beneficial experience which combines mobility exercises, breath-work, meditation, and relaxation. Lucy is very attentive and aware of the differing needs of everyone in her classes, without being at all intrusive or over-bearing. The new Sunday morning workshops in Little Comberton Village Hall are a welcome addition to her offerings, and provide an opportunity to go deeper into some of the more subtle aspects of yoga. All in all, if you're looking for authentic yoga taught by an expert teacher, this is it. - JC
